Henry VI Part 1 and Part 2 and Titus Andronicus were entered into Liber C of the Stationers' Company on April 19, 1602. Thomas Millington had previously entered Henry VI Part 2 into Liber B on March 12, 1594. Titus Andronicus was first entered into the Stationers' Register as the property of John Danter on February 6, 1594, who then printed the first quarto edition for Millington and Edward White. There is no record of Danter's transfer of his rights to Millington. In this entry, Thomas Millington transferred the publishing rights of all three plays to Thomas Pavier. Henry VI Part 1 had not yet appeared in the Stationers' Register or in print.
Titus Andronicus is entered here as "Titus and Andronicus." Despite Pavier's publishing rights, the next printed edition of Titus Andronicus was completed by Edward Allde for Edward White in 1611. Three quarto editions appeared in total, and the play was also included in the First and Second Folios.
Henry VI Part 1 and Henry VI Part 2 are entered here as "The first and Second parte of Henry the vjth]". Henry VI Part 2 was published first in 1594, and again in 1600, both by Thomas Millington. Following this transfer, the play was next printed in 1619 as a part of The Whole Contention of the Two Famous Houses of York and Lancaster, which was printed by William Jaggard for Thomas Pavier. Following this, it was next published in the First Folio, along with Henry VI Part 1, which appeared then in print for the first time. Both plays also appeared in the Second Folio.
Liber C and the other registers with Shakespeare’s works are still kept by the Stationers’ Company in their archives.
