Founded in 1911, the Elizabethan Club of Yale University is a private club that maintains a library and serves as a meeting place for conversation and discussion relating to literature and the arts. The library contains Tudor and Stuart literary texts, the core collection of which was given by Alexander Smith Cochran, the Club’s founder.

Terms of use

The Elizabethan Club has graciously contributed images from their collections to Shakespeare Documented, and retains sole ownership of said images. Visitors may download, link to and cite the images within Shakespeare Documented in personal research, and for publication.
